Business AI Tip of the Day
Run a Two Lane Stack Before Astra Lands in Every Client Chat

Welcome back to Sumo Growth AI Insights. I'm walking you through this week's AI News the way an operator actually uses it, not as a pile of headlines. Lead story. OpenAI launched GPT-6 Astra on Thursday. President Greg Brockman called it a generational leap, and for him personally, the start of the AGI era. OpenAI says Astra is state-of-the-art on computer use, software engineering, science, and professional work. On Terminal Bench Science 0.1, it scores 64.6%, versus Claude Fable 5.1's 52.6 at roughly 31% lower estimated API cost. It also hits 99.9% on ARC AGI 3 and a perfect 100% on Exploit Bench. Rollout starts with Daybreak Cybersecurity customers, then over the coming days to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, plus the API under Model ID GPT-6-Astra at $10 per million input and 50 per million output for short context, and also on Azure and AWS Bedrock. Advanced Cyber Access stays limited to trusted defenders. Plus Story, Google Ship Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, its third Flash drop in six weeks. Flash is generally available as a coding and agent workhorse at the same introductory price as 3.7 Flash, 75 cents per million input and $3.75 per million output through December 31st. Then 150 and 750 on January 1st, 2027. You will find it in the Gemini app for Pro and Ultra, the Gemini API, Anti-Gravity, and Gemini Enterprise. Flash Cyber, tuned for vulnerability discovery and patching, stays limited to trusted defenders via Google's new Fairwind program. Google reports 54.9% on HLE verified and says Chrome's security team got 2.6 times more correct vulnerability patches from Flash Cyber than from larger commercial models. Three more headlines. First, on Thursday morning ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok went down together. ChatGPT and Codex hit elevated errors around 11 a.m. Eastern, including voice, search, deep research, image generation, logins, and file uploads. Claude's chatbot, Claude Code, and API hit an infrastructure issue that Anthropic resolved around 12.15 p.m. Eastern. Grok went down from about 9.30 a.m. Eastern, with XAI pointing to a Memphis data center outage. Gemini never posted an official outage. 9-5 Google reported all three back to normal by 12.38 p.m. Pacific. Microsoft said Azure was not the cause. No lab has confirmed a shared root cause. Second, Meta's Superintelligence Labs released Muse Spark 1.3 in Muse Code and the MetaModel API. Max Reasoning is still waiting on extra safety testing. Meta engineers say it uses about 20% fewer tool calls and 25% fewer tokens than Muse Spark 1.2, with a cleaner coding style, better clarifying questions and confirmation before consequential actions. Open weights are still on the roadmap, not in this drop. Third, Google started a global English mobile rollout of Gemini Lifestyle Voice inside Gmail, Docs, and Keep. Gmail Live answers inbox questions and shows source emails in the transcript. Docs Live can format, summarize, and with permission pull from Gmail, Drive, Chat, and the web. Keep Live turns natural speech into notes. Gmail Live is on iOS and Android for AI Plus, Pro and Ultra. Docs Live is Pro and Ultra on both platforms. Keep Live is Pro and Ultra on Android only. Workspace Business Access is still coming soon. Business AI tip of the day: run a two-lane stack before Astra lands in every client chat. Astra's headline is Computer Use You Can Sell. Forms, CRM updates, research, decks. The Thursday outage is the other headline. Chat GPT, Claude, and Grok can fail in the same window while Gemini keeps answering. Flash 3.8 is generally available today at 75 cents and 375, so you do not have to wait on daybreak or a messy plus rollout to keep client work moving. This week, before you promise Astron inside every Go High Level workflow, split production automations into a primary lane, the model the client paid for, and a failover lane, Gemini 3.8 Flash or Muse Spark 1.3 with a hard timeout, not a hope in a retry. For any job that writes to Go High Level, a CRM or a mailbox, log model ID, tool calls, and a human kill switch in the SOP. Astra's computer use is not a reason to skip the audit trail. If you sell enablement, put one client team through a MyAcademy role path this week, so switching to Astra is a 15-minute workflow, not a slack panic. And if you produce ads or training video, trial compliance by 12 labs on one rule pack so reviewers see context instead of a timestamp dump. A flagship model with no backup is not a premium stack. It is a single outage away from a missed appointment. Pro tip screenshot one dual-lane run, Astra or Fable primary with Flash 3.8 failover on a real lead research job and send it with your Astra update email. Agencies that show the failover close upgrades. Agencies that only paste OpenAI's blog get ignored when the next outage hits. That is your Sumo Growth AI Insights briefing. Build the two lane stack this week, and I will catch you on the next issue.
